How Our Foundation Repair Referral Works
KilleenFoundation.com is a referral website, not a foundation repair company. We send your request to one independent local foundation repair company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.
Not a charity, not a contractor
The name describes what we write about: the foundation under your house. KilleenFoundation.com is not a charitable foundation, a nonprofit or a grant program, and it doesn't pay for repairs. It also isn't a foundation repair company. We don't inspect houses, install piers or level floors.
Who runs this site
KilleenFoundation.com is operated by The Gadget Aid, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. We publish this website and pass requests along to a local company. We don't employ crews, own equipment or do any foundation work.
We wrote the guides on this site from published sources: the USDA soil survey, the Texas State Historical Association, the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Real Estate Commission, the cities of Killeen, Temple, Harker Heights, Belton and Copperas Cove, and national cost guides. Sources are listed at the bottom of each page. Prices are national ranges, not quotes.
How your request is routed
- You send a request. The form asks for your name, phone number, town, the service you need, how soon, and optional details. To start, use the request form.
- Your request goes to one company. We send it to one independent local foundation repair company that serves the area. We don't send it to a list of bidders.
- The company contacts you. Pricing, scheduling and the repair plan come from that company. It will tell you whether it can take your job and what it charges, including whether it charges for an evaluation.
- You decide. You're under no obligation to hire the company. Any agreement is between you and the company.
Who pays
Our service is free to homeowners; you never pay us. Companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals, and that's how this site is funded. We don't add anything to your bill, and the company sets its own prices, terms and schedule.
What we don't do
- We don't perform, inspect, design or supervise any foundation work.
- We don't set prices, give quotes or collect payment for repairs.
- We don't offer, back or guarantee any company's work, warranty, availability or prices.
- We don't give engineering, insurance, legal or code advice. For those, ask an independent Texas-licensed professional engineer (P.E.), your insurance agent, or your city's building department.
- We don't send you marketing texts.
What to ask any foundation repair contractor
Whether you hire the company we refer you to or someone else, these questions protect you:
- Are you registered with my city? Killeen, Belton and Copperas Cove require contractor registration. Texas has no state license for general contractors.
- Can I see your certificate of liability insurance? Check that the name matches the company on the bid.
- What exactly will you do? Ask for a written pier layout: number, type, location and target depth.
- Will you pull the permit? Killeen has required permits for foundation repair since March 1, 2022.
- What warranty comes with the work? Ask what it covers, whether it transfers to a buyer and what voids it. Get it in writing.
- Will you test the plumbing? Ask whether a plumbing test before and after the lift is included.
If you'd like an opinion from someone who isn't selling the repair, hire an independent Texas-licensed professional engineer (P.E.). You can verify a license on the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors website.
Questions or complaints
If you have a problem with the company you were referred to, contact that company first. If it isn't resolved, or you want us to stop sending your requests, email us at [email protected]. We can stop referring to a company that doesn't treat homeowners fairly.
